Portfolio maintenance involves assessing the client’s goals and objectives and taking care to ensure that the current portfolio structure is appropriate in today’s market.
Once a portfolio is constructed, our work is not done. Care is given to portfolio maintenance through a rigorous monitoring process. Each investment vehicle is compared to its peer group and the appropriate benchmark on an ongoing basis. Additionally, the relationship of the investment vehicles to one another is tested. After so much work has gone into the analysis and construction of the portfolio, inevitably conditions change. Portfolios are monitored and recommendations are provided to make each portfolio as strong as possible. Over time, portfolios are rebalanced to make sure the appropriate level of risk is being assumed by each investor. |
The portfolio review process is ongoing. As portfolios grow over time, we work hard to keep them as vibrant as the day they are constructed. This process includes the analysis of:
-the asset allocation compared to the stated investment goals
-the asset class weightings to ensure that the portfolio is in line with our Tactical Asset Allocation Portfolio
-the sector weightings against our current equity strategy so that no one sector represents a disproportionate share of the portfolio
-the fundamentals of each security within the portfolio to make sure that new information would not alter our opinion about a security
-the position sizes to ensure that no one security represents a disproportionate share of the overall portfolio
-the current value of each security against a projected fair value |
